Re: GL5 ASSOCIATION access.

Hi All

Just a quick line to say that I now believe that the problem lies with my version of Windows 10 being out-of-date, i.e unserviceable by Windows. Am having great difficulty in up-dating the Tablet so I might have to seek a local p.c. shop's assistance.

GL5 ASSOCIATION access.

Hi everyone. Is anyone else, besides myself, having massive problems accessing the GL5 website? Everytime I go to access the website I get told that it is having problems opening on my tablet. If it seems that I am the only person having this problem , perhaps a "computer literate" member could sugg...

Filing Buttons.

Hello to all members.

Does anybody know of anyone with a set of Filing Buttons (or individual items) that they would like to sell due to either duplication or surplus to requirements? If so, please let me know as I would be very interested in purchasing them.

Best regards

Midlands Model Eng Show

Hi All Just a quick line to let anybody who was interested in going to this year's show that the organisers have announced today that the 2020 show is now officially cancelled. Still, look on the bright side, that gives us a year and a bit to save the pennies for the 2021 show, lol. Best regards to ...

3D Printed Wagons.

Hi everyone. I have just been watching a piece of film on YouTube showing the building-up of a 5" Gauge GWR Shunters Wagon from a 3D printed kit by "3DPROLLINGSTOCK" and would like to know if anyone here has any experience of these kits, they seem to be very good value for what they are. I realise t...

Re: 17D Wagons.

When I was looking for "scale" Cattle for the Cattle Wagon, I found some resin sculptures of a Bull made by "Leonardo.co.uk" in their "Reflections" range. They were rather expensive as they are meant to be artistic sculptures in a gold colour but they are very detailed and just need repainting. I pu...

17D Wagons.

Hi Everyone, I hope you are all safe and well. I just wanted to ask if anybody else had noticed that 17D have taken 5" gauge Wagons out of their Ready-to-roll Price List. I bought one of their 5" Loriots last year and was very pleased with it and was contemplating getting another wagon in the not to...

Re: Turnout Backnumbers.

May I just take a moment to say a big Thank You to Bill Sharp for ,first of all, taking the time to get my details from the GL5 Society and ringing me to say that he could provide me with my missing Turnouts and, secondly, taking the time and effort to actually print them off and send them to me. It...

Hello again to all members, I hope you are all safe and well. As it is exactly one year since I put my request on here, I thought that I would re-post it now in the hope that someone may be able to help. Would somebody please be able to supply me with either originals or copies of any of the followi...

Maxitrak Locos.

Hi to all members. Hope the Lock-in is not proving too arduous. I am hoping to purchase either a Maxitrak 5" Class 25 or a Brush 0-4-0 Diesel (D2999) in the next few months and was wondering if any members have got experience of either loco that they would like to share. I only have a short ,single-...

Miniature Railway Magazine.

I recently came across an advert for the above mentioned magazine and thought that I would get a copy to see what it is like, being a relatively new guy on the 5" scene. I have since received the copy and ,personally, find it a good read. Not quite as much 5" stuff but even the bigger gauges is stil...

Coupling Bars

Hi to all members. I thought that I would just let you know that I recently took delivery of a Four foot Driving Truck from a well-known model engineering company and then thought that I should buy a Coupling Bar (profiled edges) to go with it off ebay but from another well known m.e.company. Imagin...

Hello to everyone on the forum. Despite valiant efforts by Liz Cooling to supply me with a full set of Turnout Backnumbers, I am still missing the following part numbers : 1,2,6,8,9, 39 and 41. If any member of the GL5 Society could furnish me with either originals or photocopies of any of the backn...

Would anybody be able to help me with the third article by Peter Smallwood in Turnout No.22 for building the LMS Large Cattle Wagon. As I only recently joined the GL5 Society I do not yet have a complete set of backnumbers and am missing no.22. If someone could possibly photocopy the said article fo...
