Re: Painting a Smoke Box

Hi Andy, go for B Its the only way to clean the old off. The latest paintstripper wont look at it as the green party have managed to ruin that as well. I would suggest Jim is right. Best of luck Regards Ballan.

Hi Dave, don't know the answer to that one but would suggest Doug H. will have some idea. I know he does not use this media generally so a phone might help. Happy New year to you and yours. Regards B.

Re: A few thoughts to consider

Can I suggest you join a local club ( model engineers) and talk to people, also do what most of us have done over the years, buy Model Engineer or /and Engineering in Miniature. as well as back numbers and you will find an awful lost of informa...

Re: Wheel back to back dimensions

Hi Andy, yes that is what Brent is saying. We at the Lindsey Model society have visited quite a few tracks that were ground level and where any of them were running a Romulus or Charles or other Narrow gauge loco s ( 7 1/4 ) then we could not run as our waggons and Loco s would not cross the crossin...

Re: The Future

The future is bright, from what has been said on this subject. Just why some one had to contact the chairman and let him complain beats me. Why not put it on here ,or the agm what is felt by a member. B Brian has a point, yes newcomers have a lot to learn, and the more they mix with experienced memb...

Re: The Future

Alan says one or two groups are questioning the future. Would he like to name names or let these people speak up a AGM,s, as I suspect some one is trying to stir the mud. Lets be honest, 90% arecontent to let the few do the work, but this does not mean they think we are going in the wrong direction....

Re: FREIGHT TRAIN

Most people that have an 08, have bought the kit and that one has 4 motors driving 3 axles. The traction morors are normally mounted between the frames, parallel to the axles. with the batteries above the chassis inside the engine and cab casing. If you want one big battery , the could be mounted ab...

Re: Comments sought on laying track

Hi Gordon, I have been involved in laying three tracks and the best results were obtained by laying the track on concrete. Most tracks need a much deeper base than you are proposing to use. The reason being that most gardens have some clay under the first few inches of soil. This will make the track...
