From the track layout at last year shildon i guess we would need to start 3starter signals 1 from Daves end 1 from the middle yard an 1 as exist from bootom yard, plus 1 stop with maybe calling on arms to enter bottom yard or maybe off to shed then 1 spilter to give road to dave or middle yard. look...

Well Dave we started something, I was thinking of some simple signals Hornby Dublo things. are we now thinking of some more detailed items ? I purchased Dougs drawing of a home and distant on round post plus a few bits See picture and it came to almost £70 are we prepared for this or should we think...

Looked at drawing last night and spec plate is some 1 1/8inch thick so 3mm about right arms then taper down.
so will give it a try.

Hi
Does anyone know if there are parts on the market for LMS/BR signals I am of a mind to do some for next years Shildon, BUT at 1/8 scale.
Posts I can do either Brass tube or hardwood for square posts its the rest I'm looking for.

Tried water based indoor stuff last night and this morning the small sample look Ok now trying a bigger bit as coach sides are 6 feet long if this works will try coating using spray gun. I have 4 coaches done and 14 more as kits ready to go.

does any one have any idea as how to seal these against weather and handling, I have put some on the Pullmams we are building so lots of letters and crest ect. All Thanks for input would still like some info/Pictures from Gilling stock. Tried out two cars over Brent's track and the buckeye move off centre around 3mm each way this was by eye as dam rain started ( Brent's place all but underwater) anyway seemed to work but will try again on some of the curve...

Have a look at this clearly so sort of side springing might be able to do on next batch of underframe but as first 4 are done not much room to do anything.

Just thought I would add I had V hangers done in 2mm steel for 40 pence each I have seen them at over £4 a pair so its worth get some ideas on what might be done the whole of my Pullman floor pan came to less than £150-00 for the steel bits. I think this is the way forward I am sure many new comes to GL5 miss what the smaller scales do for there members, there are only a few suppliers to GL5 and some parts are not that cheap, CNC and laser cutting if done in enough is fairly cheap I had 200 Pullman carriage wheels turned face and back 4...
