Post by Mike Solloway » Sun Jul 14, 2013 10:43 pm

A test post to see if images 'elesewhere' can be displayed here without needing to host them separately.

That is more like it though it seems it only works with 'landscape' images not 'portrait'

Another image test. Just seeing how easy it is to upload a picture. A mobile phone shot circa 2Mb which had to be reduced using paint to the size required.

My earlier effort in the 'events' bit failed but am trying again

This time I used the Microsoft Powertoy setting for tablets - seems to be OK what think you ?

Looks rubbish really (You cannot see it in preview) - I have asked the admin to tell us how it should be done.

Mike/Guy - did you use the 'img' box to add the picture - it does nothing when you click on it?. I had to use the 'upload attachement' bit at the bottom. You both seem to be using a much better method, please pray tell!

Hi Mikeg

I used the Upload Attachment tag that you get at the bottom of the "Post a reply" option.

The image needs to be resized to the 460 pixels maximum required by this forum. I used microsoft paint to open and resize the image. Once the file is attached I selected the include in line option to make it appear below my text.
I hope that males sense

Regards

Try again ! - this time I have used Micrisoft Office Picture Manager to resize the picture (Don't have Paint) and have resized to 448 x 336.

Looks better in preview so will use this if it all works out - thanks guys (PS: I should have read the Admin note from 2009 before doing this !)

Guy - look at the 'Events' topic - something there re the AGM that may be of interest to you

Hope you don't mind Mike but following you effort I thought I'd give it a go to see how the resizing site works.

Image

At 350 pixels it looks like I could use the custom settings rather than the presets.

It's a bit complicated but I think I'm getting there using the add attachment tag then clicking place inline which of course is what the instructions say.....oh dear.
I resized the image using the Resize Images Online site.
