ESSMEE have offered to host a GL5 event at the Bath and West Railway at the B&W Showground near Shepton Mallet again in 2025. The weekend they've been able to offer is the 6th, 7th and 8th of June. However this will only go ahead if there's sufficient interest - unlike some other railways there's not lots of resident rolling stock so we need lots of people to bring wagons and carriages if it's to be a success! We're aware this is a long way from a lot of our members too, but hopefully some of the Northern contingent will be able to make the journey down.
We will probably put an "expressions of interest" poll up on the website soon- watch this space for more info.
It's a lovely railway, a nice big main yard and some interesting trackwork to keep shunters on their toes, with a separate smaller yard and a cracking long run through the Somerset countryside, as well as a station and separate engine shed area.
Caravanning and camping will be available on site for £10/ night, with toilets and showers.
