drain cocks

has anyone used automatic drain cocks on a piston valve engine
I do.
Reichsbahn class 55.
As with any equipment on a steam loco, these automatic drain cocks need maintenance (a good clean every now and then).
I unscrew the cap, remove the ball and clean the inside of the casing with a Q-tip.
I have these automativ drain cocks on all my steam locos and never experienced any serious trouble.
